John Maron Cerrito II

1976-2012

John, more commonly known as “Boss” by his family members, was born April 24, 1976. His father gave him his nickname at birth, and to family that is who he was. He would grow into a very tall, extremely charismatic man with remarkable good looks.  His smile could light up an entire room upon his entrance.

Boss was a funny and loving little boy full of charm and wit.  As he grew older that same little boy grew into a man with the same virtues. He was exceptional with children. In many ways he had the spirit and light heart of a child himself. He was especially adored by his nieces and nephews, who could never get enough of their "Uncle Boss".

He was extremely protective of his family and friends as well. Through thick and thin, blood and water, he was the ultimate bodyguard for those that he loved. Everyone always wanted him around, and they felt safer when he was.

Johnny, as many of his friends referred to him, loved all sports but was most passionate for the game of basketball throughout his entire life.  It didn't matter where or when, he was always ready to shoot hoops. It was his secret desire to one day play professional ball like his hero Michael Jordan.  Instead he found another passion in cooking which would ultimately lead him to his adult career as a chef, taking him to some of the finest restaurants in metropolitan Detroit. He always put his heart and soul into all that he created in the kitchen.

Strong and Intense.  Kind and Loving.  Charming and Funny.  These are only a few words that can describe the outstanding, and unparalleled man we knew as our son, brother, and friend. He is loved so very much by his family and friends, and will be deeply missed.  These mere words can not express the pain we all feel over losing our “Boss”.
